Golf, Great Spectatorship and the Comfort of Cashmere

Golf, Great Spectatorship and the Comfort of Cashmere

There’s something undeniably special about golf in the UK. It’s more than just a sport—it’s an experience. Early morning fairways, spectacular scenery, quiet anticipation before every shot, and a crowd that appreciates the game with style and respect. Summer 2026 brings several fantastic golfing events across Scotland, making it the perfect season to enjoy world-class golf while embracing effortless British style.

One of the biggest highlights is The Genesis Scottish Open, taking place from 8–12 July 2026 at The Renaissance Club. Co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour and the PGA TOUR, the event attracts many of the world's best players as they compete for valuable Race to Dubai Ranking points. Beyond the action on the course, visitors can enjoy a lively Fan Zone, outstanding Scottish food and drink, and a welcoming festival atmosphere that makes it a memorable day out for golf fans and families alike.

Just a week later, from 19–24 July 2026, golfers of every ability can experience Royal Deeside Golf Week in Aberdeenshire. Set in one of Scotland’s most beautiful regions, the event combines four unique golf courses with breathtaking scenery and genuine Scottish hospitality. Whether you're playing or simply soaking up the atmosphere, it's a wonderful opportunity to discover why Scotland is proudly known as the Home of Golf.

The golfing calendar continues with the ISPS Handa Women's Scottish Open, held at Dundonald Links from 22–26 July 2026. Women's golf continues to grow in popularity, and tournaments like this showcase exceptional talent, precision and determination. Watching these players compete at the highest level is inspiring for seasoned golfers and newcomers alike.

Of course, attending a golf tournament in the UK also means dressing for unpredictable weather. Sunshine, coastal winds and the occasional shower can all arrive within a few hours, making layering the smartest approach.

A classic jumper is one of the most versatile pieces you can wear to a golf event. Better still, choose one made from cashmere. Lightweight yet wonderfully warm, cashmere offers exceptional comfort without feeling bulky, making it ideal for long walks around the course. A quality cashmere jumper looks polished enough for the clubhouse while remaining relaxed enough for an afternoon spent following your favourite players from hole to hole.

Pair your jumper with chinos, tailored trousers or dark denim, comfortable trainers or loafers, and a lightweight waterproof jacket just in case the Scottish weather decides to remind everyone who's in charge.

Golf has always been associated with timeless style, and spectators are very much part of that tradition. Whether you're cheering on the world's leading professionals, exploring Scotland's spectacular golf destinations or simply enjoying a summer day outdoors, choosing a beautifully made cashmere jumper allows you to stay comfortable, elegant and ready for whatever the day brings.

This summer, let golf inspire not only your weekend plans but your wardrobe too. Sometimes, the perfect round begins long before the first tee—with the right cashmere layer and a classic jumper you'll reach for again and again.
